John Carpenter Video Game “Toxic Commando” Also To Get A Comic book Prequel

Lover of video games John Carpenter is set to release a First-person-shooter and co-op horror game with many of Carpenter’s humour and masterful storytelling. The game which will be release on PS5, PC and Xbox One Series X/S is developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment.

Here’s a brief idea of what the story for the game will entail and also a bit of game information.

“In the near future, an experimental attempt to harness the power of the Earth’s core ends in a terrifying disaster: the release of the Sludge God. This eldritch abomination begins terraforming the area, turning soil to scum and the living… to undead monsters! However, the genius behind the experiment has a plan to make things right. All he needs is a team of competent, highly-trained mercenaries to get the job done. Unfortunately, those are all too expensive. Which is why he’s hired…” -Focus Entertainment

Now, Bloody Disgusting has broke news about the planned video game receiving a prequel comic book release “John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando: Rise of the Sludge God“. Dark Horse Comics will release the 3-issue series written by Michael Moreci and artwork by Alberto J. Albuquerque.

The synopsis goes like this
“A normal day for Obsidian CEO Leon Dorsey becomes horrific when his search for clean energy accidentally awakens an ancient, sludgey evil. Humanity’s last hope against a toxic future rests with a private group of commandos“

The comic will release on March 13th, 2024, (first issue will be priced at $3.99) with the video game arriving sometime in 2024.
