GAMERA – REBIRTH The Six-Part Animated Series Coming To Netflix On September 7, 2023

Kaiju creatures are just a few of my favourite things in cinema (besides horror). I’m a giant Godzilla fan, but I tend to actually enjoy that giant outer space turtle known as Gamera even more. Well, if you’re a fan like me prepare for Gamera to invade our televisions again with GAMERA- REBIRTH. This six-part animated series will come out this September 7, 2023, worldwide.

Directed and co-written by Hiroyuki Seshita and funded by something called GAMERA Rebirth Production Committee. The animation on the show will be handled by Kabushiki-gaisha Engi. Some of the Japanese voice actors attached include Hisako Kanemoto, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Aki Toyosaki, Subaru Kimura, Mamoru Miyano, and Saori Hayami.

The series will see Gamera go up against five different Kaiju creatures which include Viras, Jiger, Gyaos, Guiron and Zigra. There will also be merchandise tie-ins available (not sure if this will be international or just in Japan). Some of this merchandise includes S.H. MonsterArts Gamera (Rebirth edition), Windbreaker coats, bags and other Gamera figures (2023 editions).
