From The Press Release

The world of The Last Vampire Slayer continues at BOOM! Studios in August 2023. Casey Gilly (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Lost Summer) and Oriol Roig (Forlorn) present the next chapter in the BUFFY THE LAST VAMPIRE SLAYER saga, set after the events of the Buffy The Last Vampire Slayer Special!

Thess is all grown up, having taken up the mantle as the new Slayer. But with new responsibilities come new enemies and a mysterious clan that will do anything to get to her…even if it means using her friends as bait!

About the Author & Artist:

Casey Gilly is the mother of a toddler, a horror fan, and a comics writer. The first two prepared her for the third. Her work can be seen in Star Wars Adventures, My Little Pony: Generations, You Died, and Femme Magnifique

“It always feels SO GOOD to sink my fangs back into Last Vampire Slayer! For this arc, Oriol and I are bringing readers to beautiful Santa Carmen, CA, where our girl Thessaly is figuring out the life of a Slayer in her early 20s: she’s got a job at the local boardwalk, a big crush on her cute co-worker, oh—and a bunch of grizzly supernatural murders to stop,” says series writer, Casey Gilly. “It’s been such a privilege to see these characters through three books so far and I hope everyone is excited to see what we have in store for them.”

Oriol Roig is a comic book artist based in Barcelona. He began as a freelance storyboard artist in advertising. He’s drawn comics for the European market and for BOOM! Studios.

“It’s awesome what Casey is doing with Buffy. Urban fantasy with monsters, magic, romance, drama… What’s not to love?” says artist Oriol Roig. “Getting to bring this to life is an absolute treat.”

BUFFY THE LAST VAMPIRE SLAYER #1 features a standard cover by acclaimed illustrator  Ario Anindito (Star Wars: The High Republic), and variant covers by Suspiria Vilchez (Vampirella Strikes), and Francesco Francavilla (Night of the Ghoul)!

The Last Vampire Slayer is such a fun world to explore!” said series editor Elizabeth Brei. “The world needs its Slayer, and they are getting a brand new one in Thess. Her journey is one no one should miss.”

BUFFY THE LAST VAMPIRE SLAYER #1 will be in comic shops in August 2023. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Kindle.

About Michael Juvinall (6693 Articles)
I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5 and metal fan since I was 14. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all-around affinity for things that go bump in the night! I'm also a huge fan of extreme metal music.
