DEAD RINGERS Television Series Starring Rachel Weisz Gets A Poster & Teaser Trailer

The new Amazon Prime series DEAD RINGERS will make its premiere on the streaming service April 21, 2023. The series itself is based upon the 1988 film with the same name. The 1988 version is directed by David Cronenberg. That version stars Jeremy Irons in a dual role as identical twin gynecologists.

The new version will see Rachel Weisz take over the role as identical twin gynecologists. Other series regulars are Michael Chernus, Poppy Liu and Britne Oldford.

Amazon has released a statement on the upcoming plot of the new series:
“A modern take on David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller starring Jeremy Irons, Dead Ringers stars Rachel Weisz playing the double-lead roles of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twins who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes—including pushing the boundaries of medical ethics—in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s health care to the forefront”.
