The band released the following statement concerning the choice to cover “Crystal Mountain” from DEATH’s influential Symbolic album:

“We wanted to pay tribute to the late Chuck Schuldiner and Death with a cover of the track “Crystal Mountain.” Death’s music has always been a main influence on our music dating back to when we were in high school, “Crystal Mountain” was always one of those songs we would cover for fun, so after over a decade of performing the song live we decided to record our take on the track to express how influential Chuck’s music been to us. This year marks Twenty years since Chuck’s passing, but his impact on us as a band and music as a whole is still felt today as strong as ever. Rest in Peace Chuck Schuldiner.”

HEMOTOXIN will release the single via Bandcamp on December 13, the anniversary of Schuldiner’s death.

About Michael Juvinall (5945 Articles)
I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5 and metal fan since I was 14. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all-around affinity for things that go bump in the night! I'm also a huge fan of extreme metal music.
