The new Universal monster movie RENFIELD has cast Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies) in the starring role as Dracula’s henchman.
Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War) is set to direct based on a script from Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) and Ryan Ridley (Rick & Morty).
McKay and Kirkman will also serve as producers along with David Alpert, Bryan Furst and Sean Furst.
For those not familiar,
The character of Renfield originated in Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula as a patient in an asylum with an obsession for drinking blood, deluded into thinking he will find immortality. He bows at the feet of the vampire king, who feeds him insects and rats and dangles everlasting life in front of him.
Hoult has previously appeared as Hank McCoy in the recent X-Men films, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Mad Max: Fury Road, Warm Bodies. For TV, The Great, Crossing Swords, Skins, and many others.
