Max Brooks Bigfoot Horror Film DEVOLUTION Finds Director!
Legendary Entertainment has announced they have tapped New Zealander James Ashcroft to helm the adaptation of Max Brooks’ (World War Z) Bigfoot horror film, DEVOLUTION.
Ashcroft is a Māori Kiwi actor-turned-director who recently directed his first film with the lauded horror movie, Coming Home In The Dark. Ashcroft will fine tune the script with writing partner Eli Kent.
Devolution tells the story of a small, high-tech eco-community called Greenloop in the remote forests of Washington State that becomes isolated from the outside world when nearby Mt. Rainier suffers a volcanic eruption. A tribe of Sasquatch soon invade their community while fleeing the eruption. An ensuing slaughter happens when the Sasquatch invade.
The story is told through the found journals of a resident in the remote community of Greenloop.
Personally, I recently read the novel and was floored by how great it was. If they can manage to do justice to the book, it will be one helluva horror film.
