Supernatural Spinoff THE WINCHESTERS In Development at the CW!

It was revealed today the CW Network is in development of a Supernatural spinoff series, a prequel, entitled THE WINCHESTERS. This show marks the CW’s third attempt to spinoff from the 15-season hit, Supernatural. The first two attempts were back door spinoffs that tanked before they even got off the ground.

This new series attempt though is bringing back one of the original stars of the mother show – sort of. Jensen Ackles will serve as narrator for the show and produce along with his wife and producing partner, Danneel Ackles.

The concept for the new series, The Winchesters, centers around Sam and Dean’s parents, John and Mary Winchester. The Winchesters is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary and how they put it all on the line to save their love and the entire world. In the original series, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Samantha Smith played those roles.

Maybe the third time is the charm and the series will be viable. Only time will tell.
