Exclusive Interview with WRONG TURN Reboot Director Mike P. Nelson!
Interviewed by Michael Juvinall – Horror Patch
WRONG TURN is available on VOD, Digital, DVD and Blu-ray February 23rd.
Director Mike P. Nelson directs the just released reboot/remake of the 2003 backwoods horror film, WRONG TURN. The writer of the original film, Alan B. McElroy came back to rewrite his own film. That doesn’t happen very often.
The new Wrong Turn is not an exact redo of the inbred cannibal film that we’ve all come to know and love and which spawned five sequels, none of which were as good as the original, although Wrong Turn 2: Dead End was the best of the direct-to-video sequels.
In the new film, Backwoods terror and never-jangling suspense meet when Jen (Charlotte Vega) and a group of friends set out to hike the Appalachian Trail. Despite warnings to stick to the trail, the hikers stray off course—and cross into land inhabited by The Foundation, a hidden community of mountain dwellers who use deadly means to protect their way of life. Suddenly under siege, Jen and her friends seem headed to the point of no return— unless Jen’s father (Golden Globe® nominee Matthew Modine) can reach them in time.
