THE MONSTER SQUAD (1987)

Five youngsters find themselves up against the combined might of Dracula, the Mummy, the Gill Man and Frankenstein’s Monster who arrive in town in search of a magic amulet.

If ever a film deserved to be on a best of monster movie list it’s The Monster Squad. It’s one of the greatest monster movies ever made! It features every major monster known to man. You’ve got Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, the Mummy, a werewolf, a Gill man, and vampire brides, they’re all here.

Also, as much as I love gorefests, this one is not that. It’s a really good movie the entire family can watch together and enjoy. The creature makeup effects are top notch by Stan Winston and his amazing crew. This is a film that gets played every Halloween in my household.
