Label: Pure Steel Records

If research showed me one thing about THRUST it is that sometimes the take a break between records, a very long break. After their first full-length “Fist held High” in 1984 it took them 28 years to return with their second output “Invitation to Insanity” but then they fell off the edge of the world again only to return 13 years later in 2015 with “Reincarnation”. Luckily they did not disappear again and brought us “Harvest of Souls” in 2018 and now I have the opportunity to check out their fifth release “The Helm of Awe”. Let’s see what the label has to say:

“Classic US Heavy Metal, very catchy and distinctive, and very melodic is presented in more than 50 minutes. Epic metal music with some surprises like the semi-ballad “Killing Bridge”, Straight numbers like “Blood In The Sky”, “Purgatory Gates” or the groovy title track “Helm Of Awe” complement a very strong album by the legendary band. Purchase for this album is a must for all the metal music scene! Get ready and TURN IT UP!!! ”

YUP! Classic US Metal that switches between high melodic and more rough songs, solidly played by Cooke (guitars), Gervais (bass), Rezendes (drums), Rodriguez (guitars) and nicely vocalized by Eric Claro. This is good US Metal, suitable for airplay but not blessed with the great catchy melodies that seal the deal.

Conclusion: If you like bands like BATTLEAXE you are in for a treat, check it out and tell us about it
