Horror Patch’s HALLOWEEN MONSTER MASH – Day 12: The Cabin In The Woods!

In this holiday feature, we will showcase the best monster movies ever made during each day of the month, leading up to Halloween.

DAY 12

THE CABIN IN THE WOODS (2011)

When five college friends (Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz, Jesse Williams) arrive at a remote forest cabin for a little vacation, little do they expect the horrors that await them. One by one, the youths fall victim to backwoods zombies, but there is another factor at play. Two scientists (Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford) are manipulating the ghoulish goings-on, but even as the body count rises, there is yet more at work than meets the eye.

The Cabin in the Woods is a unique film in many ways. As a monster movie, it features a vast array of creatures from across the board. It’s got zombies, werewolves, sea creatures, demons, clowns, merman, and many more. So the monsters are covered in this monster movie. But, it’s also funny, witty, and charming.

Since the film was released in 2011, it has garnered a cult following and fans seem to really love it. It was designed as a meta-horror film to poke fun at the tropes of the modern horror movie.

About Michael Juvinall (6471 Articles)
I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5 and metal fan since I was 14. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all-around affinity for things that go bump in the night! I'm also a huge fan of extreme metal music.
