R.I.P. – Evil Dead II Actor Danny Hicks Has Died!

Sadly, it was announced that indie actor Danny Hicks passed away yesterday. He was 68 years old. It is being reported that he passed away from cancer.

The actor had shared earlier in June that he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

Hicks was a cohort of Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell who appeared in many of their films including Evil Dead II, Intruder, Darkman, Spider-Man 2, Maniac Cop, and My Name Is Bruce.

He also performed in several other genre films such as The Demolitionist, Wishmaster, 2001 Maniacs, Porkchop, Porkchop 3D, Dead Season, and most recently, The Blood Hunter.

At the time of his cancer diagnosis, Hicks was given one to three years to live, alas that was not to be. He commented at the time, “But I gotta tell ya, I sure as hell packed a whole bunch of living into my 68 years. I got no change coming back that’s for sure. And not too many regrets,” Hicks said. “Ok, gotta go. I’m gunna find out just what in the hell is going on down in that fruit cellar.”

His death was announced on the Facebook page of his company, Full Empire Promotions, along with a tribute reel of his on-screen roles.

You may have had the opportunity to meet Danny Hicks on the convention circuit where he appeared from time to time. If you did, it was a real treat to meet the man in person.

Everyone here at Horror Patch would like to offer our sincerest condolences to Danny Hicks’ family, friends, and fans during this difficult time.

Rest In Peace Dan “Danny” Hicks Born: July 19, 1951 – Died: June 30, 2020

About Michael Juvinall (6926 Articles)
I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5 and metal fan since I was 14. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all-around affinity for things that go bump in the night! I'm also a huge fan of extreme metal music.
