Melo Death Unit VOICES OF RUIN Release Live Video for “The Undoing” at Wacken!

So Cal Melodic death metal unit VOICES OF RUIN has dropped a new live video for their track, “The Undoing” at Wacken in Germany. The track comes off of the band’s upcoming new album, Path To Immortality, which is due out on May 15th via M-Theory Audio. You can watch the live video right here on the inside.

From The Press Release

After putting the metal world on notice with the fierce new track “I Am God” and then making additional waves with their striking music video for “Carved Out” (a song praised by Decibel Magazine as “especially ripping,” with “a crisp, clear production reminiscent of modern Dark Tranquillity, Kataklysm and Soilwork”), VOICES OF RUIN have unveiled a third taste of their fierce forthcoming third album, “Path To Immortality.” Check out “The Undoing” – which captures the California group performing live at Germany’s largest annual metal festival, Wacken Open Air here:

Says vocalist David Barrett, “‘The Undoing’ was the first song that was written for our new album, and it’s been part of our setlist for some time now. It has evolved a little from when we first wrote it, and the crushing production brought the song to the next level! Rafael [Ortega of Ecliptic Visions Prod.] did a great job blending the footage of us performing the song to make a cool music/live video. There are also some audio clips in the beginning and at the end, including Eric Dow (Wacken Metal Battle USA, Helsott) announcing us as we began our set. Wacken was a dream come true, and to be able to release the live footage along with the premiere of ‘The Undoing’ at the same time is perfect! We can’t wait for fans to hear the rest of the new album!”

Due May 15 via M-Theory Audio, “Path To Immortality” – which was produced by former Machine Head guitarist Logan Mader (Gojira, Septicflesh) and features cover artwork by Par Olofsson (Exodus, Immortal, Revocation) – can be pre-ordered on compact disc and limited-edition splatter vinyl at smarturl.com/VOR. All digital pre-orders include “instant grat” downloads of “The Undoing,” “I Am God” and “Carved Out,” songs that can currently be streamed on Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music and other platforms.

VOICES OF RUIN – who describe their sound as an epically-crafted blend of classic heavy metal and modern death metal that also pays homage to the traditional Scandinavian melodic death metal sound – have performed extensively in support of their two self-released albums, 2010’s “Into Oblivion” and 2015’s “Born From The Dark.” In addition to winning the U.S. Wacken Metal Battle in 2018 – when they bested dozens of unsigned groups to earn the chance to perform at the world’s largest annual heavy metal festival – the group has toured Europe with Internal Bleeding and Sacrificial Slaughter; supported Vader across North America on the 2017 “Strike Of The Empire” tour; played in Japan alongside Vader and Hate; and performed extensively in Southern California alongside a number of notable acts, including Morbid Angel, Trivium, Devildriver, Dark Tranquillity, Amorphis, Cattle Decapitation, Dying Fetus and Origin.

For the past six years, VOICES OF RUIN have also organized the annual Ruinfest festival, a celebration of California’s extreme metal scene that has featured the likes of Fallujah, Exmortus, Pessimist, Skeletal Remains, Helsott and Letum Ascensus.

About Michael Juvinall (5968 Articles)
I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5 and metal fan since I was 14. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all-around affinity for things that go bump in the night! I'm also a huge fan of extreme metal music.
