Hulu announced today they are upping their game in the feature film arena. The streaming network announced they have procured rights to Clive Barker’s BOOKS OF BLOOD and will be producing a full-length film for the network.
The film will spin three tales from Barker’s series of short stories.
Brannon Braga (The Orville) will serve as first-time director on the film. Braga will co-write along with Adam Simon, who worked with him on creating the TV series, Salem for WGN America.
The cast will include Anna Friel, Britt Robertson, Rafi Gavron and Yul Vazquez.
Braga and Simon serve as executive producers of Books of Blood along with Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Brian Witten, Jeff Kwatinetz, Josh Barry and Barker. Mark Miller is a co-exec producer, and Joe Micucci, Jason Clark and Michael Mahoney are producers. The film comes from Fox 21 and Fuzzy Door, headed by MacFarlane and Huggins.
Books Of Blood is scheduled for a Fall 2020 premiere on the network.
