Trailer for Thrash Metal Documentary, MURDER IN THE FRONT ROW!

Check out a trailer for the upcoming documentary on the San Francisco thrash metal scene of the 1980s, MURDER IN THE FRONT ROW. The film documents a who’s who of thrash from the ’80s including Metallica, Exodus, Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, and many more.

The whole title of the film is Murder In The Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story. The film is directed by Adam Dubin and it’s set for release on April 20th at AMC Kabuki 8 in San Francisco at 1 pm, with the film containing more than 50 interviews with stalwarts from the metal scene.

Those include Metallica’s James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo; Slayer’s Tom Araya, Kerry King and Gary Holt; Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine and David Ellefson; and Testament’s Chuck Billy and Alex Skolnick.

Machine Head’s Robb Flynn, Anthrax’s Charlie Benante, Death Angel’s Mark Osegueda and Dave Lombardo are also featured, along with plenty more familiar faces.

The film is loosely based on the 2012 photo journal of the same name by Harald Oimoen and Brian Lew. Director Dubin explains, “What I loved about the book is that it wasn’t just about Metallica.”

“It was documenting a vibrant scene, where all the bands were equal and there was real camaraderie. The photos captured the sweat of the clubs, the ringing in your ears and the power of young people.”

“Harald and Brian captured the humanity of it, and they understood that I was somebody who could bring that out in a film.”

I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all around affinity for things that go bump in the night!
