Trailer Debut For Horror Sequel MIMESIS: NOSFERATU!

Check out the trailer debut for writer/director Douglas Schulze’s MIMESIS: NOSFERATU. The film is a sequel to his 2012 well-received hit, Mimesis: Night Of The Living Dead, which I really loved. Watch the trailer and get a few more details on the film on the inside.

From The Press Release

The idea behind the Mimesis series was to find a way to celebrate classic horror films that influenced me growing up. Simultaneously we wanted to find a vehicle for exploring the notion of a subculture that so loves horror films that they want to live them.

Although MIMESIS: NOSFERATU is a sequel it was designed to stand alone. The original Mimesis (released by Anchor Bay)featured Sid Haig and followed a group of horror convention goers who are invited to a remote farmhouse where they find themselves unwillingly cast in a deadly reenactment of George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead (complete with flesh-eating zombies). This new MIMESIS is set a few years later at a private school where they are adapting a multimedia version of the Nosferatu for the stage.

In truth, the new Mimesis follows Bram Stoker’s Dracula novel more closely while finding visual inspiration within Murnau’s classic. Afterall Murnau’s film was his adaptation of the Stoker novel.

Allen Maldonado starred in the first MIMESIS and can now be seen co-starring alongside former SNLer Tracy Morgan in the hit TBS show The Last OG. Allen returns for the new MIMESIS as a sort of Van Helsing vampire hunter. The films have sort of evolved around Allen’s character and the third is being designed with him in mind. I’m also a big fan of Lance Henriksen since his vampire days in Kathryn Bigelow’s Near Dark. He had a great role in the film as the Auteur.

About Michael Juvinall (6653 Articles)
I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5 and metal fan since I was 14. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all-around affinity for things that go bump in the night! I'm also a huge fan of extreme metal music.
