From The Press Release

New Jersey-based progressive death metal outfit UNCURED have unveiled a brand new track, titled “Stygian Valley” as the band prepares for a heavy touring schedule through the rest of 2017. Led by 17 year-old guitar prodigy Rex Cox, alongside his 19 year-old brother, Zak Cox (lead guitars), plus the dynamic rhythm section of Jon Kita of Diecast (bass) and Liam Manley (drums) to round out the group, UNCURED will kick-off a lengthy US tour alongside DevilDriver, 36 Crazyfists and Cane Hill on August 18th. Following this late Summer tour, the band will embark on a Fall trek in North America supporting Children of Bodom and Carach Angren. Fans can check out the new song, “Stygian Valley”, via the link found below.

UNCURED released its first full-length record, Medusa, on March 10th, 2017. Metalsucks.net wrote that Medusa is “a synthesis of all manner of melodic, progressive, technical metal — Dream Theater, Opeth, etc — mixed with a groovy, almost tribal approach trafficked by ’90s stalwarts like Sepultura and Fear Factory. Have those two genres ever been mixed together before? Probably, somewhere. Have they ever been mixed together before with such finesse and originality? Certainly not.”

Metal Injection states “UNCURED sounds a bit like old-school Dream Theater with some modern tricks thrown in, such as full-on breakdowns and smoking guitar acrobatics. This is band comprised of extremely talented and promising young musicians.”

UNCURED recently concluded a 6-week tour across North America with Swedish metal giants Katatonia. UNCURED are quickly gaining a reputation among fans and critics for its aggressive, technical, yet highly diverse live performances.

About Michael Juvinall (6911 Articles)
I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5 and metal fan since I was 14. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all-around affinity for things that go bump in the night! I'm also a huge fan of extreme metal music.
