Shark Thriller MEG Gets Pushed Back To August 2018!

Warner Bros. giant shark movie MEG was scheduled to be released into theaters on March 2nd, 2018. Now the studio has confirmed a new release date of August 10, 2018.

The movie is based on Steve Alten’s bestselling novel about Navy deep-sea submersible pilot Jonas Taylor, who once came in contact with the Carcharodon megalodon apex predator, a 70-foot, 60,000-pound Great White Shark with hundreds of 7-inch serrated teeth. Jonas barely escaped, but must prove to the world that Meg still exists.

On its new date, the only thing Meg has to worry about isn’t Jonas, but Universal’s reboot of Scarface. That second weekend of August is arguably the last time there’s a major cash grab for studios and exhibitors before the under-21 set starts heading back to school.

We’ll have more on Meg as it develops, so keep it bookmarked right here at Horror Patch for all the latest!

About Michael Juvinall (6520 Articles)
I am a devoted husband and father. I have been a voracious horror fan since the early age of 5 and metal fan since I was 14. I watch all horror films but my great loves are classic horror films: Universal Monsters, Werewolves, Hammer Horror and an all-around affinity for things that go bump in the night! I'm also a huge fan of extreme metal music.
